Tea is very, very good for you. Organic tea is even better.
All real teas come from the plant, Camellia Senensis. I call herbal teas infusions because they aren’t really teas at all. Herbal infusions, also known as tisanes, are made from individual herbs or blends of herbs. All our teas as well as our herbal infusions come from organically grown plants.
Real teas are classified as Black Tea, Green Tea, White Tea, Oolong Tea, or blends of these teas. Where the tea plant is grown, the soil it is grown in, and atmospheric and weather conditions contribute to the taste of the tea. But tea leaves are also processed differently to make different kinds of teas. Green Tea is produced soon after the tea leaf is harvested by steaming the leaves which eliminates the fermenting process. Oolong Tea is oxidized for a short period of time, while Black Tea is allowed to react with the air and oxidize for a longer period of time. This process turns the tea leaves black. The processing affects the taste, color and aroma of the tea. Many countries famous for their teas produce different varieties, but Japan is best known for its Green Tea and China for its Black Tea.
Earlier I wrote about an easy way to brew the perfect cup or pot of tea. It also teachs the best way to decaffeinate any cup of tea.
